OK, so I suck at follow through!

I’m back! After a brief break (ok, maybe not so brief) I decided I must return and slam down some more of my randomness for your reading pleasure.

A fab day off last Friday spent in South Beach on a dive boat was promptly followed by cocktails with my girls at Monty’s. Margaritas flowed and 5pm quickly turned into 11pm and the realization that I had volunteered to help at daycare’s charity car wash at 9am on Saturday morning.. Eeek!

Fast forward 10 hours, 4 aspirin and 2 gallons off water. “Who wants a gonga the giraffe door hanger to color in? No? How about a balloon doggie? Note to self, next time a volunteer sheet makes it’s way across your path, make like all the other parents and look blank. I’m willing to bet they were all safely ensconced in their air conditioned living rooms, laughing at how easily they dodged that bullet! I am officially a sucker.

The Insanity: Part 2

Weeelllll heeellllooo. Boy it’s been a while, I have been tits up in a pile o’ crap for about 2 weeks now, near enough started right when they cut our Art Department down to one, me. Just love this economy crisis thingy, new house probably worth diddly and 10 times more work. Oh and did I mention the pay freeze? That bein’ said, it’s 5 mins til quittin’ time and I’ll be clutching a nice Pinot in 15! Yay!

Stop the Insanity

I just had to backtrack posts to see just exactly when I first posted about the old scooter ride to downtown. April bloody 3rd. It was so nice to drive the car we bought for 20mins before it died and has been in mechanic purgatory for 4 F^%^&^% weeks now. After getting smooshed by a red honda, I am now sporting a gorgeous full helmet, which is nearly as big as the bike. I keep thinking “it can’t get any worse, it can’t get any worse” It can’t right?

Bad taste parties & more drunken escapades

Sooooo. Question. Is a bad taste party ever a good idea? Went to my first one on Saturday, lots of Budweiser 40’s, twinkies and porn. All fun and games until someone closes the sliding glass door. Well, it looked open until I slammed into it. Panic ensues as drunken friends gasp in horror at the (tiny) cut on my nose, promptly followed by group-wide hilarity. Now that was in bad taste. Note to self. No more red wine cubes for me.

Daiquiris are evil

Nursing a bloody sore head and sore husband today after a night of shenanigins with my work mates. Why does mixing white wine with evil daiquiri like concoctions seem like a good idea ever?

Car dealers suck arse! (Yes, that’s arse)

And to think, for a second, I thought we had a good experience at a car dealer. Ha! How the smeg am I STILL driving that damned scooter to work everyday? Huh? Huh? It’s like bad sketch on candid camera. 3 bloody days my supposed new car has been at the mechanic, what are you doing people? Sticking it together with band-aids? They have my money and I have diddly-squat. Musta done something bad in a previous life. I hope I really enjoyed it whatever it was.

Snuggies are fabulous! (But not available in pink)

The ultimate in cheese…the Snuggie! I was a point-of-sale victim last night and bought myself a beautiful blue Snuggie. I am also starting petition to make Snuggies in Pink. That just would have been more that perfect, maybe for my back-up Snuggie….I m the laughing stock of my office (awesome) and will be sporting said Snuggie at any available moment. Executive meetings, here I come.
Tweeted the Snuggie joy last night and roused more interest that any boring news story. I am now up on Snuggiebook.com http://is.gd/oTdP Check it out! Maybe the South Florida contingent should be sporting sleeveless Snuggies in deference to the weather? I think the Snuggie will become my travelling gnome and be photographed in exotic places around the world.

Feelin’ fab!

Spent the morning bopping about a photo studio, working with our new morning show talent. Good times. Makes me remember why I got into this biz in the first place. Why can’t all days be like that? The hosts were super cool, considering they have been up since the crack of ass this morning! Makes my 6.45 start look lame! Off to sift through 3000 photos now. Fun, Fun.

Tax Refunds and Scooter rides

Well Happy Monday everyone. Why do beautiful weekends go so fast, and where the bloody hell is my tax refund. It’s not that I need it or anything..I mean I just love riding to work on a 50cc scooter 13 miles freezing my arse off. It’s good for the spirit to overcome adversity, right? But grrrrrr. My spirit just fine thank you very much. Ah well, here’s hoping by next week this is all a bad memory huh?

Job security and other musings

Boy, it feels like life is just up and down like a bride’s nightie these days. The mood swings from gloomy to sunny in the space of minutes. Of course everybody is in the same boat. So it looks like I may get to occupy the old cube a little longer and that really is good news. I love this loony bunch of people and would miss them all if the worst happened. Managed to avoid another 40 degree scooter ride to the office this a.m. Saved by a kind friend at work who picked me up. Where is my tax refund, give it up Obama, I’m gonna chuck it back at the auto industry, surely that’ll help right? And just because I can, here’s a photo of the most beautiful kid in the world. Thank god she looks like her daddy.
